This was the MFA Year 2 Interim Show and required participation. we divided into teams to over the different aspects of the show: curation; logistics; transport; installation; marketing. I took part in the transportation team.
Professional skills: Research; Communication; Technical skills; Collaboration:
Communication: Explanation of your work: I discovered that in fact, as my piece related to the HS2 planned redevelopment I had visitors who were interested in this aspect. They had mostly come through the Churchwarden circulating information, and Twitter. I had contact from two journalists after the show. I made a personal flyer which I think was useful for the invigilators when I wasn't there.

Transport: I was part of the transport team and we found that following the previous experience at the Meier gallery everyone was well prepared for install. However, I found that although a decision was made not to incur costs by ordering a joint van, in fact it would have been better to do this, as in the end I moved 6 other people's work.
Technical skills: This was a very particular environment with specific qualities and access. I had decided to make a 80 kg ciment fondue slab and although I did make a couple of site visits, as I realised it would be heavy, a late decision was to transport it in the shuttering for safety. This increased the weight and size for what was an awkward access. As with the raft, the build of which was concurrent, I had to be very organised with workshops and timetables, and colleagues.
