An illustrative index with line drawings of the works was produced by the students which proved to be much appreciated by the visitors.
SHIFT was a group show put on by the MFA Year 1 students (and some MFA Year 2) 2nd - 6th June 2015. The strategy was to continually re curate the show during each day, after the initial curation by a team from Chelsea College Curation MA.
Professional skills: Collaboration; Curation; Communication and Presentation.
Curation:
We continually curated the show, which for me was very interesting and developed my sense of what effect and conversations different pieces might have.
On this occasion included learning about who the audience might be, as passing footfall was low. This gallery proved to be a little away from the business of Borough Market and was therefore rather quiet, apart from the PV which was well attended.
Transportation:
We worked in teams prior to opening, and I was part of the Transport team. We organised preparation and transport of works to the gallery and hired a van for transport away which was used by 10 artists....unfortunately some delays occurred as some works were not ready to transport on the day. This proved a learning experience for the Crypt event where everything was well packed in advance and the van loading and unloading was very much quicker.
