RAPTIO means the mass abduction of a large number of women or girls. In April 2014, over 250 schoolgirls were abducted from the small Nigerian town of Chibok, by the militant Islamist group Boko Haram. 219 girls remain missing.
This piece explores the nature of the presence/absence of the missing daughters for the bereft parents. It has been reported that some taken their daughter's school uniform down and unfold and refold every evening.
